Michael has worked in Music education for over 15 years, and is currently Director of Performing Arts at an independent school in the North West, having previously held leadership positions in the state, independent, and sixth form sectors. His career has seen him work with students from around the world, and he has guided Music students in their progression from A Levels to the UK’s top conservatoires and universities, including Oxford and Cambridge.
Passionate about Musical Theatre, Michael has produced and musically-directed sell-out shows in youth theatre for many years, ranging from Sondheim classics to modern greats. As part of his yearly concert series, Michael directs choirs, chamber choirs and other vocal ensembles and relishes the opportunity to challenge young singers with an exciting and eclectic repertoire. A recent review described one of his choral concerts as “the best performance at any school that I have ever seen.”
Michael is thrilled to be part of the vocal team at EYSM, having previously worked on the course as house staff, in addition to other summer schools, including The Company Musical Theatre.
