Nevin has two daughters, Nina (cello, voice) and Tashie (soprano sax, voice) who have been attending and enjoying EYSM since 2022. He was a prize-winning boy soprano in his native Northern Ireland more years ago than he cares to remember and has always had an interest in supporting music and the joy and positivity it can bring to people’s lives.
He is a qualified chartered accountant and had senior finance roles with Centrica/British Gas and The AA until 2013. Between 2013 and the end of 2024, he was Finance Director and then Chief Executive of The Jockey Club, the largest commercial group in British horseracing, responsible for events such as the Epsom Derby, Cheltenham Festival and Grand National.
He now has a portfolio of Non Exec and Trustee roles in addition to EYSM. Nevin and his wife, Alex were very keen to see EYSM continue after the 2025 edition and have been working behind the scenes to help with the changes that have ensured launch for 2026 can go ahead.
