Ramon Branch Biescas (Tarragona, Spain) is a versatile and dynamic musician whose work spans orchestral performance, chamber music, and sacred music. He began his musical training at the renowned Escolania de Montserrat, where he studied singing, piano, and organ while touring internationally across Europe, the United States, Russia, and China.
He later continued his studies in the UK at Lancing College and the Purcell School for Young Musicians, before completing both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He studied tuba with Ben Thomson, Mike Levis, and Kevin Morgan. A committed orchestral musician, Ramon has performed with leading ensembles including the London Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, of which he is a Fellow. He currently serves as Organist and Director of Music at St Mary Magdalen’s, Brighton, where he leads the church’s musical life and oversees its choral and liturgical programme.
Alongside his orchestral work, he maintains an active chamber music profile, performing regularly with the Heron Brass Quintet and with his group, Ventus Duo, exploring ambitious and diverse repertoire in highly collaborative settings. Ramon also has extensive experience teaching privately and working in SEND schools, where he is committed to making high-quality music education accessible and engaging for all students.
